Oh, Shield TV

After getting tons of notifications saying the Shield TV is running out of space, then deleting a bunch of apps, and still getting tons of notifications, I had to factory reset the entire thing. This is why I won’t use the Shield TV as a Plex Media Server or emulation station again. This is probably the fourth or fifth time I’ve had to blow everything up and start over. That reminds me that I need to reinstall Funimation.

I wish I could hire me

What a weird fellow.

Thinking about how to get myself to clean up and go through all the boxes that are in storage after moving over a year ago. The thought popped into my head, “I wish I could hire me to do that.” I initially laughed it off, but then I thought about it a little more.

can hire me to do that! Essentially, I just have to pay myself off with something that I want. Maybe if I go through boxes, get rid of a bunch of things, and organize the items, I can pay myself off with spending money or an empanada or cookie or something off my wish list.

At worst, I’m bribing myself and at best I’m incentivizing myself. I believe I will make a list of things I want and match them with my goals.

Planning for fun?

This picture has nothing to do with this post.

I just came off a four-day weekend after going full tilt at work for the past several months and I’m still a bit tired.

  1. I’m glad I’ve got a great job with PCMag and am very much enjoying the actual work (and the people are awesome, too).
  2. As I’m adjusting my style to match PCMag’s, I’m getting to exercise different muscles than I used to in my old gigs.
  3. While exciting, it can tire you out!

What did I learn by taking off that time? Four-day weekends are great, but next time, I’m going for five. Additionally, unexpected things came up which took away from relaxing and recharging. Depending on the schedule of events, I’m gunning for a week off in the near future. However, I think I may try to plan daily recharging with that time off (beyond watching movies and TV).

There’s a bunch of stuff I’ve put off that could be useful to me like indoor rock climbing (due to anxiety), going through stuff still in boxes (due to the difficulty of moving boxes from the storage loft to a work surface), and re-organizing the kitchen. The thing is, I know that if I do these tasks, it will pay off with long-term benefits.

Also, I’d like to go on vacation away from NY again.
